A public charity focused on health outcomes

HQUIP is an organization dedicated to solving common problems that result in poor patient outcomes by stimulating innovation to improve overall patient care.

Focus Areas

Lung Cancer Screening

Non-metropolitan areas have a disproportionate high-risk screening-eligible population. Most of these individuals don't have access to a screening facility within 20 miles of their residence. The result is 90% of eligible patients are not screened each year.

Patient Advocacy

Patients have the ability to provide input to define the goals and direction set by providers and vendors, regardless of their insurance status, as they are the primary recipients of the results.

Patient Experiences

Frank

"If I wanted [screening] done I would go as far as I had to... I wouldn’t mind going two, three hours.”

Anita

“I’d like to see doctors be more knowledgeable [about

LCSLung Cancer Screening (a process used to detect lung cancer in otherwise healthy individuals at high risk for lung cancer).
] and be a more standard thing for the doctors to throw it out there, like they do with your mammogram and your colonoscopies.”

John

“I think the

LDCTLow Dose CT (the only recommended screening test for lung cancer). During the scan, you lie on a table and a low dose of radiation is used to image your lungs; the scan is not painful and only takes minutes.
screening site is too far from my place of residence.”
